A cultural impact financing platform, FlickFunds Africa, has announced Black Genesis— a groundbreaking mythic-historical epic that seeks to retell the origin story of civilisation through an African lens.
Described as more than a film, Black Genesis is a cultural reckoning that fuses ancestral memory, historical truth, and spiritual reawakening. Backed by a pan-African team of creatives and historians, the film is told in indigenous African languages and filmed across sacred terrains.
The film challenges centuries of historical erasure and global misrepresentation, declaring that Africa was never lost; only silenced.
“This isn’t just a story. It’s a restoration,” said the creators, who promise a cinematic experience rooted in dignity, not victimhood.
Produced under FlickFunds Africa, the film is billed as the first fully Africa-led global film, both in vision and financing. The organisation says its goal is to “fund the memory of Africa and protect her voice.”
