Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions from filmmakers about our platform and process.
We accept feature films, documentaries, short film collections, series pilots (with series bibles), and animated features. All projects must have significant African connection through theme, creative leadership, location, or cast/crew composition. We’re particularly interested in projects that offer fresh perspectives on African experiences, challenge stereotypes, and have potential for both cultural impact and financial returns.
While we welcome emerging talent, we do require demonstrated capability to execute your proposed project. First-time directors should have relevant film industry experience (such as assistant directing, cinematography, etc.) and previous short films or relevant media work. Alternatively, less experienced directors can partner with established producers. We evaluate each submission on its overall strength, including the combined experience of the core creative team.
We strongly believe in protecting filmmakers’ creative vision. Our model ensures you maintain creative control over your project, including final cut privileges (within the agreed scope and budget). Investors may provide feedback, but you retain decision-making authority on creative matters. This balance of creative freedom and accountability helps produce authentic films while respecting the financial investment.
